First Cognition Pty Ltd (ACN 688 627 198) (First Cognition, we, us) operates firstcognition.com, amorfs.com, and every subdomain and subpath of those domains — including www hosts, app.amorfs.com, Playpen, and firstcognition.com/amorfs (together, the Sites). This policy applies to all of them unless a page says otherwise. The canonical page is firstcognition.com/privacy.html; amorfs.com/privacy.html redirects here.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit the Sites or contact us through them.
It does not govern partner or client records used in a design-partner evaluation. Those records are handled only under a signed evaluation agreement, normally on the partner’s or client’s own environment. Do not upload enterprise extracts or production data through the Sites.

We are an Australian company. This policy is written primarily under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. If you are in another jurisdiction, additional rights may apply; see section 10.
2. What the Sites are for
firstcognition.com is the company site: First Cognition, Knowledge Packs, and how to start a design-partner evaluation. amorfs.com is the Amorfs product site, including Playpen. Knowledge Packs are described on firstcognition.com. app.amorfs.com is an experimental Studio. None of the Sites is an account product, payment product, model-training service, or file-upload service for enterprise records.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us
If you email us or book a demonstration, we collect what you include, typically:
- name and email address;
- organisation and role, if you provide them;
- the text of your message; and
- any meeting preferences.
Please do not include production data, extracts, or other confidential client records in that message.
We do not collect, through the Sites: account passwords, billing details, or enterprise datasets.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Sites, our hosting environment may record:
- IP address;
- date and time of the request;
- pages requested;
- browser and device type; and
- referring URL.
We use Google Analytics to understand how the Sites are used. firstcognition.com uses measurement ID G-2QG5NDJJGZ. amorfs.com, including Playpen, uses measurement ID G-MMQ14VW4K9. Google Analytics may set cookies or similar technologies and collect usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, and device or browser information. We do not currently use advertising cookies. We do not use the Sites to deliver personalised ads.
4. How we use personal information
We use Site-related personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and arrange demonstrations;
- operate, secure, and diagnose the Sites;
- keep a record of correspondence; and
- comply with law.
We do not:
- use enquiry content or website logs to train a machine-learning model;
- use them to improve a product except as needed to answer you;
- sell personal information; or
- treat a website visit as consent to receive a copy of your organisation’s enterprise data.
If we send marketing email, we will do so only with a lawful basis (typically consent or an existing business relationship) and an unsubscribe method. Demonstration scheduling is a response to your request, not a newsletter.
5. Design-partner and evaluation data
Partner Data (extracts, packs generated from them, evaluation questions and answers) is out of scope of this website policy unless and until a signed evaluation agreement says we may receive it.
The default evaluation model is that those records stay on infrastructure the partner or client controls. First Cognition does not take a copy by default, does not send that material to an embedding or hosted-model service, and does not use it to train models or improve products.
If a written agreement later permits a transfer, that agreement — not this policy — sets the rules.
6. Disclosure
We may disclose Site-related personal information:
- to personnel and professional advisers who need it to respond to you or to run the company, under confidentiality duties;
- to hosting or email providers who process it on our instructions to operate the Sites or deliver mail;
- to Google, as the provider of Google Analytics, as described in section 3;
- if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or security; or
- as part of a genuine sale or restructure of the company, with appropriate safeguards.
We do not disclose Site enquiry content to advertising networks.
7. Overseas disclosure
We are based in New South Wales, Australia, and work with people in Vietnam. Hosting, email, or analytics providers may store or access information in Australia or in other countries. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
8. Retention
We keep enquiry correspondence as long as needed to complete the conversation, maintain a business record, and meet legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it. Server logs are typically kept for up to 90 days unless needed longer for security or legal reasons.
9. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information we hold, including access control on mailboxes and the Sites. A frozen Knowledge Pack is not itself an encryption or confidentiality product. This policy does not claim end-to-end encryption of the public websites.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
10. Your rights
You may request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you, and you may make a privacy complaint, by emailing privacy@firstcognition.com.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC): https://www.oaic.gov.au.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (for example under UK GDPR or other local laws). Contact privacy@firstcognition.com and we will explain how we can help. We do not sell personal information.
The Sites are not directed at children.
11. Third-party links
Links on the Sites (including LinkedIn) go to services we do not control. Their privacy policies apply.
12. Changes
We may update this policy by posting a new version on the Sites. The “Last updated” date will change. Material changes to how we handle evaluation data will be made in the relevant written agreement, not only on this page.
